DSPS, Grossmont
College
Joe serves as the ASL
Interpreter/Coordinator in the Disabled Student Programs and
Services (DSPS) office at Grossmont College. In this full-time
position, Joe is responsible for pairing deaf students who have a
need for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services with
hourly ASL interpreters. Because there is a shortage of ASL
interpreters in San Diego, Joe puts forth considerable effort to
recruit interpreters for high-demand class times. Joe frequently
volunteers his talents for colleagues at special events in the
larger community. Joe advocates for disability awareness and
challenges his students to engage in their education without fear
and cheers them on during their studies! |
