Grossmont College Accreditation Standards

Grossmont College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.  The Commission requires that affiliate institutions undergo a periodic self-evaluation and peer review, providing evidence that the institution adheres  to the Commission's Standards of "good practice."  Over the past two years, accreditation standards committee members have been gathering information from campus documents, faculty, staff, and students to address the ten standards of accreditation.

The college's self-study report was completed in July 2001 and approved by the Board of Trustees.  It will be reviewed in detail by a visiting team of community college faculty, staff, administrators and trustees during a site visit Oct. 16-18, 2001.  These team members will want to discuss the report's findings and recommendations with a broad range of Grossmont faculty, staff and students.  One way to provide your input to the team is via the electronic feedback mechanism.

Please review each of the Standards and their subsections.  Feel free to make comments in the text boxes* after each subsection.  Your responses will be forwarded ANONYMOUSLY to a central collection point.  If you have questions or would like to discuss a Standard with a committee member, or with the accreditation co-chairs (Sue Jensen and Peter White), please type your name and phone number in the text box after the appropriate subsection.
